Obituary

Herbert Fulton Purcell, son of A. J. and E. P. Purcell, died at the family residence near Burrton, Kansas on Monday morning, April 30, 1883 at the age of 13 years, 4 months, 24 days from Inflammation of the Bowel. He was sick but a few days and the announcement of his death was a startling one to a large portion of the community.

The funeral was held on Wednesday, May 2 at which there was a very large attendeance of neighbors and riends. Services were held at the Christian Church conducted by Elder Ellett and Rev. Kingery.
