Obituary

Dan F. Howell, 55, Route 4, Hutchinson, died Wednesday, October 29 at Grace Hospital in Hutchinson after a short illness. He was born March 7, 1914 in Reno County, son of Mel and Bessie Howell, now deceased, Burrton, Kansas.

Dan married Josephine Parker on November 25, 1938. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Hutchinson. He worked for Mammel Food Stores from 1939 to 1949, at which time he bought the Mammel Store at 4th and Plum in Hutchinson and operated Dan's Market at that address for ten years. He has been an agent for Northwestern National Life Insurance Company for the past eleven years.

Survivors include the widow, Josephine; daughter, Ina Jean Howell, and son Danny Joe Howell, of the home; sisters, Mrs. Vivian Armour, Dallas, Texas; Mrs. Veve Navrat, Marion, Kansas; Mrs. Ruth Heller, Hutchinson; brother, Melvin Howell, Hutchinson.

Burial was in Star Cemetery.
