Obituary

Edward Franklin Deal, eldest son of Joseph and Ida Deal was born in Rock Rapids, Iowa on Janury 6, 1884 and died Friday, January 14, 1972 at South Hutchinson Hospital after a short illness. He was born during one of Iowa's worst snow storms and blizzard. The temperature was so cold even bread froze inside the house.

Mr. Deal was united in marriage with Hattie Elizabeth Haddock on October 8, 1925. To this union three children were born, one daughter, Verga Beth of the home; two sons, Edward Charles and Jay Duane, Hutchinson. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Burrton.

In 1940 he retired from farming and moved into Burrton where he lived at his present home. He resided at this home until the time of his death. Besides his children,, he leaves to mourn his death two grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Nell Shaw, Burrton and Mrs. Bonnie McMurry, South Hutchinson.

Three brothers preceded him in death, Floyd, Joey and Leo.

Services were held t the church with Rev. R. S. Fanestil officiating. Burial was in the Burrton Cemetery.
