Huntington, Sarah
The Evening Kansan-Republican
Mrs. Sarah N. Huntington aged 65 years, died this morning at 2:30 at Bethel hospital where she has been for the past few weeks. She was stricken on December 28 at which time the mother became suddenly ill and passed away and it was thought the cause of the illness was ptomaine poisoning.
Five years ago Mr. Huntington passed away, a year later, a daughter died and a year ago the son, so the remaining member of the family is the daughter, Mrs. Will Tellin, of Pittsburgh, Pa., to whom the sympathy of a host of friends is extended.
Mrs. Huntington was an old resident of Newton and known to so many people in church work and railroad, society circles and club circles. Many are the neighbors who remember her kind acts of love and helpfulness. She had been very devoted to her elderly mother who was an invalid for years before her death. Last winter Mrs. Huntington received an injury of a fractured hip, so had never become as robust since, but loved to have her friends and neighbors enjoy the hospitality of her home.
Her body will be taken from the Sprinker-Carter Funeral Home to the residence at 312 West Eighth Saturday morning and the funeral will be held Saturday afternoon at three o'clock. Dr. J. R. Caffyn will officiate.
