Obituary

Percy H. Mills, 84, passed away Monday, March 11, in the family home. He was born near Manchester, England on November 11, 1889 and was brought to the United States at the age of nine months. His parents settled in Kentucky where he lived until a young man.

He came West looking for work and was employed at the Vansickle farm where he met his wife, Doris and they were married October 2, 1912. They celebrated their 61st anniversary in 1973.

Mr. Mills began working for the Santa Fe Railroad in 1914 as a laborer. In April of 1915 he was promoted to Section Foreman and after 43 years with the company, retired in 1957.

Mrs. Mills preceded him in death, February 24, 1974 and the survivors are their children; Harry Vern, Topeka, Kansas; Harold Vance, San Diego, California; Mrs. Fredda McBride, North Little Rock, Arkansas; Merle, Cloudercroft, New Mexico; Mrs. Morna Jordan, Baxter Srings, Kansas; 18 grandchildren; one brother, Joe L. Mills of Harrodsburg, Kentucky.

Services will be held Maarch 14 at the First Christian Church with interment in the Burrton Cemetery.
