Obituary

Emma A. Wood, 92, died Saturday, August 10 at the Halstead Nursing Center. She was born December 16, 1881 at Stansberry, Missouri. She married Byron Wood January 16, 1910 at Burrton. He died April 6, 1965. She had lived in Burrton since 1894. She was a member of the Burrton United Methodist Church.

Survivors are daughter-in-law Mrs. Hanna Wood, Hutchinson; sisters, Mrs. Viola Houghton and Mas. Mae Sumwalt, Burrton; two grandchildren, Mrs. Sylvia Griggs, Hutchinson and Roger Wood, Wichita; one great grandchild, Valerie Wood, Wichita.

Funeral services were held August 13 at the church with Rev. Roy Nelson officiating. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery. Memorials to the Heart Fund.
