Hensley, Raymond

Raymond Hensley, 59, son of Mr. & Mrs. G. E. Hensley of Burrton, died Sunday at his home in St. Louis, Missouri after suffering a heart attack. He was born December 8, 1915 near Burrton and married Audrey D. Lair on January 26, 1941 at Hutchinson.

He was chief of police in Hutchinson from 1946 to 1951. After two years as a special agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation, he was superintendent of the St. Louis Police 'Department for several years. He was serving on the Pardon and parole Board of Missouri.

He was a member of the Webster Grove Christian Church; Masonic Lodge; Wichita Consistory and was a World War II Veteran.

Other survivors include the widow; son, Larry of the home; daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Brother, Boise, Idaho; sister, Mrs. Linford Miller, Burrton and five grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Tudsday at the Church. Graveside services will be held in Burrton Cemetery with Rev. Jerry Griffin officiating.
