Obituary

Charles W. Lovitt, 79, died Monday September 28 at the Halstead Hospital. He was born October 7, 1901 at McCracken. He married Laura Jones. She died in 1964. He married Janice Fiscus October 155, 1966 in Halstead. He was a retired auto mechanic and had been a resident of Burrton for the past 50 years.

He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Churchh, Halstead. He was a former mayor and councilman in Burrton. He was on the Board of Directors of the Brigadoon Housing Authority, president of the Burrton Tree Board and was a member of Burrton Bulf Club.

Survivors include his wife of the home; one son, Thomas C., Kirkland, Washington; one daughter, Jane Ann Lagasse, Greenbrier, Arkansas; sister, Cecelia McGuigan, Wichita; 10grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Prayer service was Tuesday at the Kaufman Chapel, Halstead. Services were held Wednesday at the Church. Burial was in Burrton Cemetery.
