Kohnle, Joseph
The Burrton Monitor
Died. On March 7th at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. N. Comes, Joseph Kohnle aged 81 years and 7 days.
Joseph Kohnle, father of John B. Kohnle, and Mrs. N. Comes, was born in Wertemburg Germany, in the year 1804, came to this country in 1859 and located near Bushnell, McDonough County, Illinois. In 1876 he moved to Reno county, Kansas, making this his permanent home, occasionally visiting his son Joseph, of Morris, Grundy county, Illinois. His health was good until about four years ago when he began gradually to grow weak although being able to be around until about two weeks ago when he was confined to his bed.
Previous to his death he made known his willingness to go and be at rest, he told his children the end was near, and he was ready and wanted to go, in a few hours the end came and he breathed out his last, peaceful and quiet as a child going to sleep. He was "A long life in a weary world, Friends waiting on the other shore, He was ready to go, the summons came, They'd never be parted more." - S.
