Hershberger, Kenneth "Skip"

Kenneth "Skip" Hershberger, 86, of Sedgwick, died February 8, 2012. He was born October 9, 1925, the son of Alan and Anna Hershberger.
He graduated from Newton High School where he played football and basketball. He served in the U.S. Navy and was stationed on Guam during WW II. On August 27, 1950 he married Joan Stamback at Sedgwick. She survives.
Other survivors: daughters; Diana and husband, Rich Krol, Nickerson; Lisa Hershberger, Sedgwick; sons; Danny and wife Kris, Branson, Missouri; Jon and wife, Anndrea, Wichita; brothers; Joe and wife Mary Hershberger, Hesston; Carl and wife, Nancy Hershberger, Lindsborg; sisters, Alma Ewert, Newton; Virginia and husband Jerry Davison, Sedgwick; 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mother, Ida Hershberger; brother, Dick; sisters, Doris Jones and Bonnie Jantz.
He was a member of the Sedgwick United Methodist Church and the American Polled Hereford Association. He was a farmer and cattlleman and worked for King Construction Company in Hesston. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and KU Basketall.
Services were held February 13 at the Church. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
