Obituary

Glenn Abney, 67, died Thursday at the Axtell Christian Hospital, Newton. Born Jan. 12, 1911 at Belle Fonte, Ark., he married Virginia May Dixon Dec. 12, 1936 at Belle Fonte. He was a retired welder for the Hesston Corporation and lived here since 1958. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, active in Boy Scouts and 4-H, all of Newton. Survivors: widow, of the home; son: Robert H., Newton; daughter, Mrs. Glenda Tenner, Newton; brothers: Mark, Warrensburg, Mo.; Lewis, Belle Fonte; sisters, Mrs. Eva Cantrell, Everton, Ark.; Mrs. Mary Emma Wasson, Aurora, Mo.; one grandchild. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Monday at the church; the Rev. Jon W. Jones. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Newton.
