Obituary

Bruce Behymer, 83, died June 14, 2004 at Newton Medical Center in Newton. He was born January 3, 1921 on the family farm at rural Sedgwick, the son of Bruce and Lenia Miles Behymer.

He attended Wichita State Universtiy for two years. He worked on a dude ranch at Estes Park, Colorado. He later worked at the Wichita Union Stockyards for 25 years and the John McClure Commission Co. as a KFH Radio broadcaster for farm reports and stock prices reporting.

He was a U. S. Coast Guard veteran of World War II, serving from 1942 to 1945. On February 24, 1961 he married Alberta Sagerty at Sedgwick. She survives.

Other survivors include; two sons, Gary Vinson, Topeka and Bruce Behymer, Sedgwick; two daughters, Gwendolyn Vinson, Overland Park and Bettina Knight, Carbondale, Illinois; brother, Keith Behymer, Wichita, four grandchildren and two great grand children.

Services were held June 16 at Sedgwick Christian Church.
