Hansen, Janelle M.

Harvey County Independent

Janelle M. Hansen, 43, died Monday, July 12, 2004 at The Vyne in Wichita. She was born June 17, 1961 at Beloit, daughter of Francis and Margie DeBay Koster. She was a school bus driver for District 439 for the last six years. She was fond of children and had a special place in her heart for those with special needs. During her lifetime, she was active on many committees and was a supporter of her family and community. She served on the council of churches, was chairman of the After-Prom Committee and has served as chairman of the Sedgwick Recreation Committee. She had volunteered for many years for the Sedgwick Booster Club and also helped with the organization of the Fall Festival.

Cooking was among her hobbies and she always made sure those around her were taken care of. She was also a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Halstead.

She married Martin Hansen on February 20, 1982 at St. John's Catholic Church, Beloit. He survives of the home.

Other survivors: parents; five sons, Levi Hansen, Eric Hansen, Zane K. Hansen, Kael K. Hansen and Wade C. Hansen, all of the home; two sisters, Joanne Brown, Beloit and Jeanne Sommerfeld, Halstead; two brothers. Harry F. Koster, Shawnee and Albert J. Koster, Valley Center and one grandson.

Rosary was recited July 15 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. Funeral services were held July 16 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Newton. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
