Obituary

Helen Marie "Skeet" Huebert, 78, died Monday, April 19, 2004 at Via Christi Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph Campus, in Wichita. A granddaughter of Dr. A. E. Hertzler, she was born in Halstead and had been a Halstead resident for the last 15 years.

She was born November 26, 1925, daughter of Ernest H. and Helen Lenore Hertzler Huebert. She was a registered nurse and retired Associate Profesor of Nursing at the University of Wyoming.

She was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Newton, University of Washington and Colorado Alumni Associations, Halstead Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association and the Reserve Officers Association. She was a U.S. Army Nurse during the Korean Conflict, achieving the rank of captain.

Survivors include a brother, Robert Ernest Huebert, Canoga Park, California; sister, Joan A. Huebert Wilder, Halstead and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services were held April 22 at Kaufman Funeral H ome, Halstead. Burial in Halstead Cemetery.
