Obituary

Marie N. Ward, 88, Garland, Texas, formerly of Halstead, died September 2, 2004 at Baylor Medical Center, Dallas, Texas. She was born April 22, 1916 at Newton. She was a laundry worker at Halstead Nursing Center. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Halstead and Halstead Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors: two daughters, Patricia Ann Smith, Halstead and Barbara Jane Ward, Garland, Texas; 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, John B. and Bessie Belle Rains Scott; her husband, Hiram E. Ward; son, Stephen Edward Ward; brothers, Otis Scott; John Scott Jr; Billy Scott; and Jack Scott; sisters, Violet Ediger; Louise Coleman and Betty Hughes.

Services were held at the Church on September 8. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
