Rita C. Wiebe, 74, mother of Mark Wiebe, Halstead and wife of Gus Wiebe, owner of Wiebe Airport, Halstead, died September 8, 2004 at Newton Medical Center in Neston.

She was born September 3, 1930 at Newton, daughter of Harould "Dick" and Mary Elizabeth Schidlowsky Hensley. Both are deceased. She was a homemaker and a lifelong resident of Newton.

She belonged to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Newton; Twice Ten EHU; Expermental Aircraft Association; Antique Airplane Association; long time community leader for City Slickers 4-H Club in Newton; past president of Harvey County Home Economics Advisory Council and served on Harvey County Extension Executive Board.

On April 27, 1949 she married Gustav "Gus" Wiebe. He survives of the home.

Other survivors: four sons, David Wiebe and wife, Vicky, ElDorado; Jim Wiebe and wife Barbara, Valley Center; Don Wiebe and wife Judy Newton and Mark Wiebe and wife, DawnEna, Halstead; four daughters; Helen Gough and husband, Dan, Clay Center; Mary Eilerts and husband, Jay D., Newton; Kathy Casper and husband Gerald, Hays and Carol Saengaerhausen and husband Barry, Wichita; sister, Mary Ann Hensley, Newton; 20 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

Recitationof the Rosary was Sunday, September 12 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead. Mass of the Christian Burial was Monday, September 13 at the Church. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
