Obituary

Elsie Anna Janzen, 92, of Halsted, mother of Norman Janzen, Halstead, died March 19, 2005 at Halstead Place Assisted Living. She was born June 19, 1912 at Inman, to Jacob J. and Justina Boese Nachtigal.

On July 31, 1944, she married Leroy L. Janzen at Hesston. He died Februry 23, 1990. She was a cook at Halstead Elementary School for 25 years and was a member of First Mennonite Church, Halstead.

Other survivors: another son, Larry Janzen, Burleson, Texas; daughters, Judith Regehr, Granbury, Texas and Deloris Huebert, ElDorado, Kansas; stepsons, Marlin Janzen, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Glenn Janzen, Apache Junction, Arizona; stepdaughter, Pauline Miller, Newton; sister, Elma Wiebe, Whitewater, Kansas; 11 grandchildrn and a great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by brothers Henry and Albert Nachtigal.

Services were held March 22 at First Mennonite Curch in Halstead with the Rev. Cleo Koop officiating. Burial was inn Halsted Cemetery.
