Obituary

Lance Scott McKinney, 37, Zimmerdale, died October 8, 2005 at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born February 7, 1968 in Santa Rosa, California. In 1976, he moved to Newton and attended Newton schools, graduating from Newton High School in 1986. He married Jana Koch August 17, 1991 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Newton

Family was the most importand thing iin his life and his family was his pride and joy. He enjoyed being involved in all of his children's activiities, especially 4-H and many livestock shows. He coached basketball and baseball. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife and their three children, Garrett, Wyatt and Ellie, rural Newton; his mother, Cheryl Nuebring and husband, Larry; sister, Stacey Dennett and husband Darren and his grandparents, Vilas and Donna Kaufman, Newton; Vern and Dorothy Koch and Kory and Joy Gehrer, Newton; Terry and Dana Knott, Hesston; Doug and Rae Niles, Sedgwick.

A memorial of life celebration was October 12 at Bethel College Stadium. Burial was in Eastlawn Cemetery.
