Obituary

Doris Mae Miller, 73, of Newton, sister of Iola Fern Russell of Sedgwick, died March 26, 2005 at her home. She was born August 18, 1931 at Burns, daughter of Marcellus Jennings and Bernice Bailey Gilmer. she was an office worker and licensed practical nurse. She belonged to Hillcrest Community Church, Newton.

On April 3, 1949 she married Mark E. Miller at Newton. He survives.

Other survivors include a son, Mark A., Strong City; daughter, Brenda Brackeen, Newton; brother, Marcellus Jerry Gilmer, Eagle Point, Oregon; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Services were held March 30 at Hillcrest Community Foursquare, Newton with Pastor Jason Reynolds and the Rev. Marcellus Jerry Gilmer, presididng. Peterson Funeral home was in charge of arrangements.

Burial was in Restlawn Gardens of Memory, Newton.
