Obituary

Donna Judith Ropp, 65, of Branson West, Missosuri, former Halstead resident died September 1, 2005. She was born October 24, 1939 in Newton, daughter of Alva and Gladys Johnston Higgins. Her father died when she was 8 years old. Her mother married Donald Partridge and he adopted Donna.

She was a 1957 graduate of Halstead High School. She married Gene Ropp August 2, 1958 at the Methodist Church in Halstead. He survives of the home. She was a homemaker and was employed at Celebration City in Branson at the time of her death.

Other survivors include a son, Neal Ropp, Water Town, Tennessee; two daughters, Cherol Lynn Dempsey, Formoso and Joan Whitten, House Springs, Missouri; two brothers, Russell and Douglas Partridge; two sisters, Jeanie Medley, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Victoria Barkley, Falling Springs, Missouri; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brothers and sisters in law, Bill and Janet Ropp, Hutchinson; George and Carolyn Ropp, San Marcos, Texas; Jay Ramsey, Grapvine, Texas; Glennis and Bill Lentz, Halstead and Arlene Amis, Wichita.

She was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Brian Ropp; daughter Pamela Mermis; brother, William Partridge and two grandsons, Timothy and Bryan Mermis.

Funeral was September 6 at Stumpff Funeral Home, South Kimberling City, Missouri with Pastor Lavern Maxwell presiding. Graveside service was in the Halstead Cemetery on September 7 with Dan Dempsey presiding.
