Obituary

Harold Curtis Dirks, 87, died November 7, 2006 at Hospice House in Hutchinson. He had been a Burrton resident since 1988. He was born August 11, 1918 in Pawnee Rock to Fred E. and Annie Laura Schmidt Dirks. He was an accountant for Burlington Northern Railroad.

He married Betty Jean Rose on October 5, 1942. She died September 25, 2005. He was a member of Burrton United Methodist Church; Burrton Lions Club; Burrton Library Board and Burrton Senior Cemter.

Survivors; son, John Dirks, Independence, Missouri; daughters, Linda Bowers of Locust Grove, Oklahoma and Pamela Falk, Kansas City, Kansas; brother, Chester Otto Dirks, Dodge City; 9 grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. His sister, Lena Marie Fairchild, preceded him in death.

Cremation has taken place. Graveside services were held November 11 at Burrton Cemetery.
