Obituary

Jopce Eileen Downs, 55, or Burrton, died Monday, July 17, 2006 at Burrton. She was born November 20,1950 at Burrton. She was born November 20. 1950 in Inid, Oklahoma, daughter of Fred and Irma Jones Green. Her mother, Irma Mahoney survives of Burrton.

She attended grade and middle school in Garber, Oklahoma and graduated from Wichita South High School in 1968. She was a member of Burrton United Methodist Church, volunteered at the Dole Center in Burrton and was active with the Burrton fire and ambulance departments. She had been an employee of Pheasant Acres Nursing Home in South Hutchinson; Cessna Fluid Power in Hutchinson and Waggoner Pew Cushion in Yoder.

She married Gary Downs March 6, 1971 in Haysville. He survives.Other survivvors: two sons, Stuart Downs and his wife, Lissa, and Nick Downs and wife, Cherrie, all of Wichita 4 grandchildren; brother, William "Bill" Green of Wichita.

Joyce was preceded in death by her son, Michael Downs, and step-father, Jim Mahoney.

Memorial Services were held July 22 at the Burrton United Methodist Church. Memorials to Harry Hines Hospice.
