Obituary

George W. Herzfeld, 85, of Halstead, died February 21, 2006 at Halstead Health and Rehabilitation. He was born April 24, 1920 at Haddam, son of George Henry and Bertha Zurfluh Herzfeld. They preceded him in death.

On January 24, 1958 he married Malvina June Johnson in Halstead. She preceded him in death April 7, 1999.

He was a carpenter for Detroit Mobile Homes, Newton and a lawn-care professional. He was a member of Grace Church of God, Halstead.

Survivors: daughter, Gloria Schroeder, Halstead and Jenny Rhode, California; brothers, Frank, Milford, Nebraska; Walter, Haysville; sisters, Molly Longacre, Chandler, Arizona; Mary Roop, Chester, Nebraska; Pauline Fry, Belleville and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Fred, Herman, Alvin, John and Ernest Herzfeld; sisters, Lillian Toms; Doris Holmes; Martha Russo and Dorothy Herzfeld; grandson, Paul Warden.

Services were held at Grace Church of God, February 24. Burial was in Halstead Cemetery.
