LaGree, Ronald G.

Harvey County Independent

Ronald G. LaGree, 85, formerly of Burrton, passed away October 31, 2006 at Mennonite Manor, South Hutchinson. He was born September 22, 1921 in Burrton, son of Thomas and Mabel Dixon LaGree. They preceded him in death.

He was a sergeant military policeman in the U.S. Army during World War II serving in Germany. He was a retired captain of the Hutchinson Fire Department and was a member of First Christian Church of Burrton, a lifetime member of the American Legion and belonged to the Wichita Homing Pigeon Club.

On June 22, 1946, he married Mary Royster. She preceded him in death in 1983. On May 2, 1985 he married Rose Davis. She survives of the home.

Other survivors: three sons, Kevin (Patti), Des Mones, Iowa; Mike (Tara), Shawnee; Greg (Stella), East Bend, North Carolina and one brother, Bob LaGree, ElDorado; two sisters, Glennis Westmacott, Lakewood, Colorado and Joy Zehr, Hutchinson; three stepsons, William Davis Rod Davis and Tim Davis; 9 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth LaGree and Max LaGree and sister, Chirley Warneka.

Services were held November 4 at the Church with Pastor Sherman Sack, officiating. Interment was in Burrton Cemetery.
