Obituary

Woodrow W. McElwain, 92, died December 28, 2006 at Hospice House Hutchinson.

He was a farmer and stockman. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Burrton; the BPOE in Hutchinson; the Kansas Burrton Saddle Club and Halstead Saddle Club. He was born December 12, 1914 in Burrton.

He was the son of Robert Towns and Lydia Elam McElwain, both deceased. He is survived by his wife, Verda Mae Sanders. They were married on August 14, 1933. He is also survived by his daughter, Penny Ewert, Burrton, 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his brothers, Richard "Dick", James "Tom", and Robert "Bob" McElwain and sisters, Hazel Holliday and Mildred McElwain.

Services were held January 2, 2007 at Pleasant Grove Church with burial in Burrton Cemetery. Memorials to Hospice of Reno County.
