Obituary

Fern Pankratz Ruth of North Newton, died March 11, 2006 at Newton Medical Center. She was 86. She was born January 30, 1920 in Newton to Cornelius G. and Margarethe Regier Pankratz, who are deceased. She married Emry Ruth on April 12, 1941, in Moundridge. He survives.

She was a medical transcriptionist at St. Joseph's Hospital and belonged to Bethel College Mennonite Church in North Newton.

Other survivors include son Jay Ruthof Wichita; daughter, Rachel Poling of Newton; brothers Gilbert Pankratz of Hesston and Elberet Pankratz of Arvada, Colorado; sister Elizabeth Zuercher of Whitewater; two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Graveside service was March 16 in Halstead Cemetery and the memorial service was March 16in the afternoon at Bethel College Mennonite Church.
