Obituary

Phyllis I. Sumpter, 89, died November 22, 1006 at Halstead Place Assisted Living, Halstead. She was born on February 17, 1917 at Bellwood, Nebraska to George and Flora Whitney Bock.

She worked as a nurse aide at Kidron Bethel Nursing Home. She married Cecil Robert Sumpter on February 10, 1038 at Newton. He died May 22, 1990.

She was a amember of First United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and Ruth-Wilson American Legion Post 231 Auxiliary, all of Halstead.

She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jo Hall, Halstead; sister, Eva Marie Sokol, Burbank, California; 3 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Graveside service was November 25 at Halstead Cemetery with Rev. Jennifer Whitt officiating.
