Obituary

Iris D. Base, 909, died August 29, 2007 at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. She was born May 10, 1917 at McAlester, Oklahoma to Jesse and Effie Rosenbaugh Morgan.

On October 5, 1938 she married Leland J. Base at Abilene. He preceded her in death in 1992. Iris was a retired medicaal records supervisor for the Hertzler Clinic in Halstead. She was a member of the Sedgwick United Methodist Church in Sedgwick and lifetime member of the Sedgwick and Newton OES. She was also a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary.

Iris greatly enjoyed traveling and was a member of the Tumbleweed Good Sam Camping Club. She looked forward to visits from her loving family and friends.

She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Musser, Newton, Connie Hiebeert, Sedgwick and Ginger King, Newton.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Moore; father, Jesse F. Morgan; mother, Effie Morgan; son, Richardd Base; brother, Jack Morgan; husband and one grandson and two great grandsons.

Service was at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
