Obituary

Walter R. Davis, 77, Newton, died Sunday July 1 , 2007 at Newton Medical Center, Newton. He was born February 26, 1930 at Denver, Colorado; son of Virgil and Mary Martin Davis, both whom are deceased. He married Joyce Johnson Herzfeld September 14, 1996 at Pryor, Oklahoma. She survives of the home. He was a truck driver and diesel mechanic.

Other survivors: sons, Jim Bob Favis, Wagoner, Oklahoma; T. J. (Tom) Davis, Show Low Arizona, daughters, Peggy Lee Engal, Cummings, Arizona; Lynn Keys, Wagoner, Oklahoma; Liz Elliott, Wagoner, Oklahoma; Laura Davis, Wagoner, Oklahoma; 26 grandchildren; 31 greaat grandchildren and a sister, Ruth Davis, Tulsa, Oklahoma . He was preceded in death by sons, David and William Davis and a brother, Virgil Davis.

Services were held July 6 at Grace Church of God in Christ Mennonite Church, Halstead. Burial was at Halstead Cemetery.
