Foraker, Olin Ted

Harvey County Independent

Olin Ted Foraker, Jr., 75, passed away April 15, 2007. He was born on December 19, 1931 at Mt. Hope to O. T. and Millie Morrison Foraker. He graduated from Mt. Hope High School in 1949.

On July 10, 1955 he married Charmaine Owens at Bethany Baptist Church, rural Sedgwick, Kansas. She survives.

He belonged to Park Place Christian Church. He received his BS and MS degree from Emporia State University. He served as a teacher or administrator at school districts in Waverly, Lakin, Northern Valley, Sylvan Grove, Kinsley, Little River and Brookville. He also served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954.

He served as a Talent Search Director at Wichita State University until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of Masonic Lincoln Lodge 154.

Survivors: two sons, Kreg and wife, Dalea, of Burrton and Harlan and wife Karen, of Burrton; son-in-law, Mike Arnold of Lawrence and 7 grandchildren. Other survivors include a sister, Marilyn Hughes of Umbarger, Texas and brother, Dennis Foraker, Emporia.

Services were held Friday, April 20 at Park Place Christian Church, Hutchinson. Graveside service to follow at Star Cemetery, rural Burrton.
