Obituary

William S. "Bill" Merrill, 77, died Wednesday, October 24, 2007 in Halstead where he has made his residence for the past two years. He was born in Mason City, Nebrska to his parents William S. and Clara Musser Merrill. He married Judy Garnett in Halstead. She survives.

He was a U.S. Army Korean War veteran; member of the American Legion; the 40 and 8; Sedgwick County Mounted Posse; Masonic Lodge and the Moose Lodge. He was a quality control inspector for Cessna Aircraft for 45 years.

He is survived by his wife; daughters, Deborah Smith, ElDorado; Denice Branum, Wichita; step-sons, LeRoy Leep Jr., Wichita; Stan Garnett, Halstead; step daughters, Debbie Leep, Kechi; Becky Baughman, Wichita; 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brother, James S. Merrill; sisters, Joan Merrill and Betty Brown.
