Obituary

Larry Muray, 81, Halstead, died at his residence on Sunday August 26, 2007. He was born on September 3, 1925 at Orange, Texas to Irvin B. and Julia H. Lamb Murray, both deceased. He was married to Janice P. "Polly" Huebert on November 19, 1944 in Bakersfield, California. She preceded hiim in death on December 13, 2002. He was retired from Materials Expediter at Exxon Corp and a resident of Halstead since 1985.

He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church; former councilman and mayor of the city of Halstead; member of the Halstead Historical Society; Hertzler Research Foundation of Halstead; served on the Harvey County Economic Development Council and South Central Kansas Economic Development District. He was a graduate of Georgetown University and a U.S. Army Air Force Veteran of WW II.

He is survived by his son, Rodrick Murray and wife, Denya, of Anchorage, Alaska and daughter, Susan Murray and husband, Dave Kohler, Durango, Colorado. He was preceded in death by brothers, I. B., Bernard, Rensselaur, Dick Murray, and sister, Mary Weber.

Rosary will be August 30 at Kaufman Funeral Home. Burial will be at Halstead Cemetery.
