Obituary

Elmer H. Stahl, 85, died June 20. 2007 at the Newton Medical Center in Newton. He was born December 5, 1921 in Newton to William and Mary Sheffler Stahl. He married Ethyl J. Iserhardt at Newton on September 2, 19145. She survives.

He was a member of the Sedgwick United Methodist Church and the Sedgwick Lions Club. He was also a member of the Soil Conservation Association and the current president of the Sedgwick Water Drainage District.

He was a longtime farmer in the Sedgwick area, an avid gardener and shared his produce with his family and friends. He enjoyed doing carpentry work for people around Sedgwick and built grandfather clocks for donation to the Lord's Acre Sale. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Old Fisherman's Club.

Other survivors: son, and wife, Nancy, Rural Halstead; son, Bruce and wife, Marilynn, Overland Park; daughter Robin and her husband Rickey Miller, Sedgwick; brother, Harry Stahl, Newton; sister, Alice Schmidt, Hesston; sister, Clara Ortman, Moundridge and sister, Ella Janzen of Moundridge. He also had 10 grandchildren and 4 great grancchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, William and Mary Stahl and brother, August Stahl.

Services were h eld June 22 at the Church. Burial was in Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick.
