Obituary

Alfred Orman Fields, died Friday April 25, 2008 at his home in Halstead. He was born July 23, 1939 in Drexel, Missouri, son of William B. and Hallie Jane Green Fields. He married Cecilia Jaso in Newton. He later married Helen Epperson in McGregor, Texas. She preceded him in death.

He enjoyed simpler things in life, especially fond of working with woodwork. He was a supervisor at Kinder Manufacturing, Newton and later for Congoleum Corp in Mount Vernon and McGregor, Texas. He hand-crafted wood heirlooms for his children and grandchildren. He loved to hunt.

Survivors: son, Frank and Martha Fields, Newton; three daughters, Julie Janzen; Jody and Nike Sutherland and Jeannine and John Garnica, Newton and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, George Stults and Leo Fields and four sisters, Dorothy Matlock; Edna Angle; Polly Whittemore and Armentia Holinde.

Graveside service was Wednesday at Greenwood Cemetery in Newton.
