Martin Wayman Jantz, 95, former elevator manager for Farmers Co-Op Halstead, died Saturday, November 21 at Halstead Place Assisted Living Center. He was born January 3, 1914 at Chickasha, Oklahoma to Amos R. and Adena Kahn Jantz. On August 25, 1939 he married Lucille J. Koehn at Hutchinson. She survives of the home.
After farming in western Kansas and near Burrton, Martin and Lucille moved to Halstead in 1945 where he worked for the Halstead Mill and Farmers Co-Op. During his retirement he enjoyed traveling with Lucille as well as bowling and swimming. He had a good long life and will be dearly missed.
Survivors: wife, Lucille Jantz, Halstead; sons, Richard (Lee) Jantz, Knoxville, Tennessee; Ron (Leona) Jantz, Lincroft, New Jersey and Ray (Jane) Jantz, Wichita; brothers, Paul Jantz, Oakdale, La; Robert Jantz, Lake Charles, La; and Gene Jantz, DeRidder, La; and sister, Thelma Koehn, Leland, Miss; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Frank, Lawrence and Cecil Jantz and sister, Helen Smith.
Services were held November 24 at Kaufman Funeral Home, Halstead. Burial was at Halstead Cemetery. Memorials to Halstead Place Assisted Living.
