Julia Waunita Schmitt, 88, died Monday July 6, 2009 at Halstead Place Assisted Living Center. She was born July 27, 1920 at Bentley to William T. and Ella Mae Beal Wilson.
She was a medical records clerk for Heretzler Clinic and a homemaker. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and Halstead Hospital Auxiliary and Order of The Eastern Star Chapter, 5, Newton.
On August 3, 11943 she married Glenn M. Schmitt at Bentley. He preceded her in death January 22, 2006.
Survivors: son, Philip Schmitt, Halstead and daughter, Cheryl (Terry) Jackson, Wichita and one grandson, Todd Senseney, Overland Park, Kansas. She was preceded in death by here brothers; Virgil, Glenn, Blaine, and Clyde Wilson and sisters Opal Atherton; Pearl Baxter and Winona Owens.
Services were July 9 at Kaufman Funeral Home with burial in Halstead Cemetery. Pastor Paul Bammel officiated.
