Norman G. Manning, 87, died Sunday, April 4 at Sedgwick Healthcare Center. He was born October 1, 1922 in Newton to H. Glenn and Eleanor Ashcraft Manning. On August 1, 1960 he married Bernadine D. Brown in Silver Springs, Marilyn and she survives of the home.
He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and worked as a clerk for the FBI. He was an active member in the Sedgwick American Legion Post 268. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Consistory and Shrine, Harvey County Farm Bureau and the former Harvey County Sheep and Wool Association.
He was past president of the Mid-Atlantic Gasoline Dealers Assoc., a member of the Sedgwick Towwnship Board and the board of Harvey CountyZoning and Appeals.
Survivors: his wife of the home; son, Norman Jr. and Bonnie Manning, Wichita; son, David Manning and Theresea Ragan of Macon, Georgia; daughter, Donna and Ken Eshelman of Driftwood, Texas; daughter, Tina and Steve Schaefer of Tampa Florida; and sister, Elizabeth Miller of Denver, Colorado; 11 grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; sister, Martha Lou Potts and brother, Gordon Manning.
Services were h eld Friday, April at the Sedgwick Christian Church. Memorials to Sedgwick American Legion 268 Scholarship Fund.
