Jim D. Janzen, 75, retired Burrton postmaster and former owner of the Burrton Graphic and Ink Spot, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at his residence in Burrton. He was born September 2, 1936 to Waldo W. and Dorothy Mae Ewy Janzen.
On March 3, 1956, he married Roberta Jean "Bobbie" Regier at Halstead. She died September 5, 2001. He then married Melinda Fast Scherling on August 2, 2002 at Burrton. She survives.
Other survivors: sons; David (Linda) Janzen, Burrton; Brad Janzen, Hutchinson; daughter, Cindi (David) Gaines, Peabody; stepson, Mark (Lauren) Scherling, Cave Creek, Arizona; step-daughter, Amy (Brandon) Siemens, Inman; sisters,Dorothy(Harry) Unruh, Boise, Idaho; Virginia (Larry) Berger, Bonner Springs; 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
Memorial services were August 14 at Burrton Christian Church with Rev. Charles Kerr and Pastor Travis Heneha presidiing.
