Clarence G. Shirk, 91, retired Cessna welder, farmer and stockman, died July 5, 1912 at Newton Medical Center in Newton. He was born April 21, 1921 at Sedgwick to Clarence LeRoy and Edith Margaret Montgomery Shirk. He was a member of Halstead Baptist Church.
On June 13, 1943 he married Odeta Alice Slaughter at Hutchinson. She died November 25, 1965. He married Maxine Krauss on June 2, 1968 at Halstead; she survives.
Other survivors: sons; Gerrel (Connie) Shirk, Newton; Erich Shirk, Newton; daughter, Melody (Mike) Fry; Newton, daughter-in-law, Sue Shirk, Newton; sister, Phyllis (Jerry) Clark, Boise, Idaho; 6 grandchildren and 17 great grand children.
He was preceded in death by sons, Fenton and Rodney; sister, Bunetta and brothers, Paul, Lawrence and Lester Shirk.
Funeral services were Monday, July 9 at Halstead Baptist Church with Pastor Edward Blanchette officiating. Burial was iin Hillside Cemetery in Sedgwick.
