Willie Voran
HESSTON - Willie Voran, 93, farmer-mechanic at John Deere Tractor & Implement for more than 21 years, died Tuesday (Sept. 14, 2004) at Schowalter Villa in Hesston.
He was born Oct. 25, 1910, to Tobias and Fannie (Kaufman) Voran in Harvey County. He married Amanda Bartel Nov. 1, 1936, in Rural Moundridge. She survives of Hesston.
He was a member of Garden Community Church in rural Moundridge.
Other survivors include: a son, Richard W. Voran of Palmer, Alaska; three daughters, Joyce Dalke and Carolyn Wohlgemuth, both of Hesston, and Betty Smucker of Okemos, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
He also was preceded in death by: a brother, David Voran; two sisters, Lena Voran and Katie Hirschler; a grandson and a great-grandson.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday with family greeting friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moundridge Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Garden Community Church in rural Moundridge with Pastors David Norris and Rich Duerksen officiating.
Burial will be in Garden Church Cemetery.
Memorials have been established with Garden Community Church Mission Program in care of the funeral home, 115 E. Cole, Box 410, Moundridge, KS 67107.
