Arveda B. Barnes Legleiter, 70, died on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at her Burrton residence. She was born August 26, 1942 in Eureka to Max and Elsie Smith Casto. In 1962 she married Ralph. Barnes. They were later divorced and continued a lifelong friendship. She married Donald G. Legleiter on October 18, 1997 and he survives of the home.
Arvada enjoyed bowling and was a loyal friend to many. She enjoyed raising her friends up when they were down and spending time with them. She also enjoyed animals, especially her beloved minature donkey, Apache. Family was very important to her. She greatly looked forward to spending time with her three grandsons and loving family.
Survivors: husband, Don of the home; son, Steven and wife, Jamie Holding, Burrton; brothers, Elmo Casto of Fayetteville,, Arkansas and Andre Casto of Des Moines, Iowa; and sisters, Mary Z. Parks and Elsie Ross, both of Newton and Elva Kingsley, ElDorado. She also had three grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; twin brothers; infant brother; and two sisters.
Funeral service was held Thursday September 6 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel in Newton. A private family interment will take place.
