Katrina Weichman Schulze was born April 17, 1868 in Eikidorf, Germany and pased away at her home Thursday, April 9, 1942, age 78 years, 11 months, 28 days. Her husband preceded her in deth 12 years ago June 5, 1930.
At the age of 14 years she was confirmed and became a member of the Lutheran Church, later she was a member of the Evangelical Church of this city.
In 1882 at the age of 19 years she came to America and joined here brother, Henry Wiechmann at Newton. In 1884 she was united in marriage to August Schulze. To this union were born 8 chilcren, 7 of whom survive: Nettie Whittle, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Herman of Toppenish, Washington; Herman of Bentley, Kansas; Chris of Idaho Falls, Idaho; Helen Swank of Bentley, Kansas; Arthur of Wichita and Zelta Hand of the home.
Also 15 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mattie Berger, Long Beach, California and Meta Brinkmann of Lilienthal, Germany; one brother Chris Wiechmann of Treherne, Canada.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, April 13 in the Halstead Methodist church. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
