Ruth V. Davis passed away at Meadowlark Hills Retirement Community, Manhattan, Kansas on Tuesday, September 27, 2012 at the age of 92. Ruth was the daughter of James and Lenore Hickox. She was born in Emporia on March 17. 1920. Ruth and Lee M. Davis were married in 1939 in Osage City, Kansas.
The couple moved to Newton, Kansas in 1962 and Ruth resided there for 50 years. She belonged to the Eastern Star and Past Matron Club of Emporia, Kansas and was a member of the Eastside United Methodist Church of Newton, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by both her husband Lee, and son, Lee Davis Jr. She is survived by her grandson, Scott Davis of Olathe, Kansas and granddaughter, Ali Davis of Manhattan, Kansas.
Graveside services will be held at Restlawn Cemetery iin Newton, Kansas, Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at 1:00 p.m.. Memorials may be made to Eastside United Methodist Church at 1520 East Broadway, Newton, Kansas.
