Patricka M. Resley Springer Brooner, 80, former Sedgwick City Clerk, died Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Kansas Medical Center in Andover, Kansas. She was born August 5, 1932 to Myrvin and Geneva Mae Resley Self at Hoxie. She was a Sedgwick resident since 1951 and was a member of Sedgwick Christian Church.
She served on numerous organizations over her entire life with distinctiion, including state president or officer of KWDC (Kansas Womens Day Club); American Legion Auxillry; ALA LeFemme's 40 & 8; Sedgwick City Councilwoman; senior aging representative; CASA board treasurer; girl scout leader and regional representative and many more. Petty believed that everyone had the ability to help and to do it with goodness, mercy and by direction of her lord and savior.
On Setember 2, 1949 she married Dick Springer at Goodland; he died April 2, 1982, she then married Roger Brooner at Wichita on November 14, 1984. He survives.
Other survivors include son, William Springer, Hutchinson; daughters, Amanda (Dan) Bader, Park City; Velma (Jerry) Miller, Newton; stepson; Mark Brooner, Sedgwick; step-daughters; Ruth (Tim) McAdam-Larkin; and Rebekah (Jerry) Smith, all of Oklahoma City; Rachel (Dennis) Simmon, Valley Center; Rhoda (Dirk) Gibson, Temple, Texas; nephew; John Olson, Dallas, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 11 step-grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and 12 step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Myrvin Springer; daughter, Dixie Mae Springer; brothers, Ronald and Marvin Resley and sister, Rose Olson.
Services were Saturday October 20 at Sedgwick Christian Church with Rev. Kim Beckwith officiating. Burial at Hillside Cemetery, Sedgwick, Kansas
