Mrs. Philina Hurd, one of the pioneers of Sedgwick, died at the home of J. M. Cox at Wichita last Monday, December 12, 1910 at the advanced age of 87 years. She was well known by all the early settlers here, but had not been a resident of Sedgwick for several years. The body was brought to this city on Wednesday for interment and was taken direct from the grain to Hillside Cemetery where burial followed.
