Billy G. Nelson, 81, passed away on October 23, 2012 at Schowalter Villa iin Hesston. He was born February 12, 1931 at Turon, son of Hazel Levens and Orville Nelson. On December 1, 1957 he married Neva Ann Mull in Newton. They made Newton their home.
Billy retired from Dillon's after 20 years of service. Prior to that, he also was employed by the COOP of North Newton.
Preceding him in death were his parents and two sisters, Wanda Gross and Barbara Meireis.
Survivors: Neva of the home; three sons, Paul (Kimberly) Nelson of Newton; Joel (Cindy) Nelson of Overland Park and James Nelson of Newton; one sister, Betty J. Buckwater of Turon; four grandchildren, Tamaria (Jonathan) George and Whitney, Chelsea and Jared Nelson; great granddaughter, Penelope George; and step-great-grandchild, Braden Lybarger.
Visitatiion will be Sunday, October 18 with the family at Broadway Colonial Funeral Home, Newton. Funeral services will be October 29 at Columbus Avenue Church of Christ with Darrick Shepherd officiating.
Memorials may be made to the Jamaican Mission Fund-Marshaltown Church of Christ, Marshaltown, Iowa in care of the funeral home.
