Ross W. Van Rossun, 89, died October 25, 2012 at Kansas Christian Home in Newton. He was born on December 5, 1922 in Burrton to Fred and Vitline LaGree Van Rossun. On June 26, 1949 he married Elda Van Rossun in Goessel and she preceded him in death on February 14, 1987. He married Doris Bean Van Rossun on May 15, 1988 in Newton and she survives.
In addition to many local businesses, Ross worked for American Coach and the City of Newton prior to his retirement. He was a longtime active member of First Christian Church in Newton where he served as a deacon and elder emeritus.
Surviovors: wife, Doris of North Newton; sons, Rick Van Rossun of Walton; Delbert Van Rossun, Temple, Texas; and Gerald Van Rossun of Zephyrhills, Florida; daughters, Diane Burdick of Bosier City, Louisiana and Carol Ann Scroggie of Belleview, Florida; stepdaughters, Phyllis Lee Hirst of Shell Knobb, Missouri; Margaret Waggoner of McPherson; Janet Stoecklein, of Hutchinson and Carol Jean Heathwaite, Austin, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife; three sisters, Norene Martin; Veda Slaven and Delight Angle and brother, Clifford Van Rossun.
Services were held October 29 at First Christian Church in Newton. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery.
