Robert "Bob" Prouty, 85, died November 15, 2012 at Asbury Park in Newton. He was born to Wilbur and Willomina Weigand Prouty in rural Newton on September 15, 1927. He was one of seven children.
He retired as a supervisor of the City of Hesston. In prior years, he worked at Boeing and the Railroad. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors: wife, Mildred Seltenreich Prouty; sisters, Carol Rostetter; Mary Prouty; Marilyn Van Rossen and Donna Tatro. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ted Prouty and sister, Jean Friesen. Bob and Mildred were married over 60 years ago.
Funeral services are scheduled for November 10, 2012 at Petersen Funeral Home Chapel. A committal service will be held following the service.
Memorial has been set up for the National Kidney Foundation in care of Peterson Funeral Home.
