Maude G. Grattan, 89, formerly of Route 1 Sedgwick, Kansas and a lifetime resident, died Tuesday, December 13, 1977 at the Halstead Nursing Center where she had resided since June 6, 1975.
She was born Maude G. Watts on December 28, 1887 in Harvey County. She married Charles A. Grattan May 17, 1916 at Halstead. He died January 31, 1977.
Survivors include one son, Donald, Sedgwick; one brother, Mearl Watts, Abilene; three sisters, Mrs. Edna Grattan, Sedgwick; Mrs. William (Olive) Cooper, Tacoma, Washington and Mrs. Walter (Pearl) Schmidt, Eugene, Oregon; 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
The rosary was recited Wednesday evening, December 14, at Draper Cannon Chapel in Newton. Services were held Thursday morning, December 15 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Halstead, of which she was a member. The Rev. Joseph N. Fischer conducted nd burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
