Howard R. Thompson, 68, retired Standard Oil dealer and lifetime area resident died Wednesday, October 12, 1977 at the Halstead Hospital. He was born November 10, 1908 at Mullinville. He married Isabelle Carson August 11, 1937 at McPherson. She died January 20, 1967.
Survivors: two sons, Charles, Louisville, Kentucky and John, Halstead; two sisters, Mrs. Mildred Hall, Riverside, California and Mrs. Pearl Cook, Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Services were held Saturday morning, October 15, at the First United Methodist Church in Halstead. The Rev. John H. Hastings conducted the service. Burial was in the Halstead Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Harvey County Cancer Society.
